Why International Women's Day is Important

I have been blessed in my life with amazing ladies. My mother was a leader who created a team and that team worked together for over 20 years. Nobody left. My sister is a strong leader and mother. Never afraid to give clarity to any situation but then work side by side with others. And my wife. She is a very humble person who leads without trying. Attentive, humble, but strong in her beliefs she the definition of servant leadership. She raised 2 strong, smart, and giving daughters. These girls want to do what is best for the team. Always. I’m a lucky man.

On this International Women’s Day, let me talk about the need for these women and so many others to be included at the leadership table. It’s so important!

Inclusion in leadership is important because it fosters a sense of belonging, creates diversity in thought, and leads to better decision-making. When leaders prioritize inclusion, they ensure that everyone feels valued and respected, regardless of their background or identity. This helps to build a strong sense of community and trust among team members, leading to improved morale and productivity.

Inclusive leadership also encourages diversity in thought and perspective, which can lead to more innovative and creative solutions to problems. When leaders actively seek out and listen to a variety of viewpoints, they can make better decisions that reflect the needs and concerns of all stakeholders. This can also help to mitigate bias and prevent groupthink, which can be detrimental to organizational performance.

Finally, inclusive leadership helps to create a more equitable workplace culture that promotes fairness and opportunity for all employees. By recognizing and valuing the unique experiences and backgrounds of each team member, leaders can create a more level playing field that rewards talent and hard work, rather than favoring certain individuals or groups.

In short, inclusion in leadership is critical for building a positive and productive work environment that values diversity and encourages innovation and creativity. It is essential for promoting fairness, equality, and opportunity for all employees, and for creating a strong sense of community and trust within teams
